Cannon Electronics, Inc. was founded in 1977 in Saint Louis, Missouri as Cannon Electronic Security Systems, Inc., for the purpose of providing basic burglar alarm protection to small and medium sized businesses and residences.

By 1979 we were providing complete burglary, fire, hold-up, and emergency protection, as well as sound systems, access control, and medical alert systems. But, we found that commercially manufactured security equipment was limited in the features required by our customers. This led us to design and manufacture custom equipment that was then "ahead of it's time". We produced the first alarm panel with independent multi-zone annunciation and integrated delayed entry/exit capability. We also produced the first alarm panel utilizing pulse count technology to reduce false alarms. It seemed appropriate at that time to change our name to reflect our broader services - thus Cannon Electronics, Inc.

In 1980 Cannon Electronics, Inc. expanded its services to provide customer premise telephone equipment, specializing in key and hybrid systems. We installed and serviced one of the first truly electronic business telephone systems at a time when the telephone company was still providing only mechanical systems.

Cannon Electronics, Inc. now supplies all these services and more, including automated attendants, voice mail, call processors and custom designed software. We have had the pleasure of working for companies such as Rhodes Furniture, GE Supply, International Longshoremen's Union, Anheuser-Busch Companies, and NAPA Auto Parts.
